AVIATION AND THE ENVIRONMENT: THE PATH TO RESILIENT AND GREEN AVIATION
On November 29, 2022, at the Vietnam Aviation Academy, the Aviation and Environment Forum – Towards greening the aviation industry took place.

With the aim of supporting Vietnam to achieve commitments to bring net emissions to “zero” by 2050; Together with the 100 countries that have pledged to reduce global methane emissions by 2030 compared to 2010, and the Joint Declaration on the transition to coal power to clean energy, the European Business Association in Vietnam (Eurocham Vietnam) will organize the “Green Economy Forum & Exhibition (GEFE) 2022”. At the same time, the Vietnam Aviation Academy will organize an in-depth forum with the theme “Aviation and the environment – Towards greening the aviation industry”.

The forum was honored to welcome the participation of leaders, experts, and members from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV); Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV); Southern Airport Authority; NACO; Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam; Embassies and Businesses on the European side; Vietnam Aviation Academy (VAA)…

The main objective of the forum is to support Viet Nam in implementing the COP26 commitments and socio-economic development goals set out in the National Strategy for Green Growth 2021-2030.

The discussion of the forum revolved around the importance of climate resilience and the NetZero 2050 goal towards greening the aviation industry. The forum also focused on exploiting the contents of the current management measures applied by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) to protect the environment in civil aviation activities as well as the environmental management system of Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) for climate resilience and airport development plans sustainability of NACO.
