Introduction
The Faculty of Basic Studies was established at the end of 2007 after the Vietnam Aviation School was upgraded to the Vietnam Aviation Academy on the basis of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the former Vietnam Aviation School.

Organizational Structure
In terms of personnel, the Faculty of Basic Studies currently has 10 full-time lecturers and 1 teaching assistant, including 01 Ph.D., 03 NCS, 06 Masters and 01 Master’s along with many visiting lecturers with high professional qualifications from prestigious universities in the country.
In terms of organization, the Faculty of Basic Studies currently has 6 subjects: Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought and History of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Law, General Sports, Martial Arts, National Defense and Security.
Functions and duties
Advise the Director of the Academy on training programs and contents, teaching modules of political theory, law, physical education, security and defense for training levels held at the Academy.
Coordinate with the Training Department, faculties and centers to develop programs and content of knowledge training of modules managed by the Faculty in accordance with each level, form of training and each specific discipline of study.
Coordinate with departments, faculties and centers in organizing examinations and final exams for subjects under the management of the Faculty.
Organize teaching, develop textbooks and lectures for political theory, law, physical education, national defense and security.
Scientific research
To promote and carry out scientific research activities in the fields of politics, law, physical education and national defense and security.
Organizing and participating in scientific conferences and seminars at home and abroad.
