On the morning of March 24, the Vietnam Aviation Academy held a ceremony to celebrate its 47th anniversary (March 24, 1979 – March 24, 2026), with the participation of generations of leaders, staff, lecturers, students, and representatives from partner organizations and agencies.

The Vietnam Aviation Academy held a ceremony to celebrate its 47th anniversary (March 24, 1979 – March 24, 2026).

The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Director General of the Department of Organization and Personnel under the Ministry of Construction; Colonel pilot and Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Nguyen Van Nghia, former Director of the Academy; Dr. Duong Cao Thai Nguyen, former Director of the Academy; and Dr. Nguyen Thi Hai Hang, former Director of the Academy.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Hoai An, Director of the Vietnam Aviation Academy, emphasized that the Academy’s nearly half-century journey of development has gone hand in hand with the growth of Vietnam’s aviation industry.

Speaking at the ceremony, he noted that from its early days as a professional training institution under challenging conditions, the Academy has evolved into a multidisciplinary higher education institution, playing a key role in training human resources for the aviation sector.

Over the past 47 years, the Academy has supplied tens of thousands of highly qualified personnel to the labor market, including pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers, as well as management and service staff. Many alumni are currently working at major domestic airports such as Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat, and participating in international flights for various airlines. “We must not only meet domestic demand but also aim to export high-quality aviation human resources to the region and the world,” he stressed.

The Director also shared that the Academy is actively innovating its training programs in line with international standards set by ICAO and IATA, while accelerating comprehensive digital transformation in both management and teaching, with the goal of becoming a “smart university” by 2030. In the context of a new growth phase of the aviation industry, with major projects such as Long Thanh International Airport and Gia Binh Airport, he highlighted the increasingly urgent demand for high-quality human resources, placing greater responsibility on training institutions.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia, representative of the Ministry of Construction, also acknowledged and highly appreciated the 47-year journey of development of the Vietnam Aviation Academy.

Speaking at the ceremony, he noted that throughout its development, the Academy has consistently received close guidance and support from state management agencies, particularly the Ministry of Construction. This strong support, he emphasized, has not only provided a solid foundation for the Academy’s achievements but also served as a driving force for it to further affirm its role in training, research, and the development of high-quality human resources for the aviation sector and related fields.

The representative of the Ministry of Construction expressed his expectation that, in the coming time, the Vietnam Aviation Academy will continue to leverage its strengths, promote innovation, enhance training quality, and expand cooperation to meet the increasingly high demands of the labor market in the context of global integration.

On this occasion, the Academy presented commemorative medals in appreciation of former leaders and long-serving lecturers, while also honoring collectives and individuals who achieved outstanding results in national competitions.

The anniversary ceremony provided an opportunity to reflect on the past journey and reaffirm the development orientation of the Vietnam Aviation Academy in the new phase, with the goal of becoming a leading center for training high-quality aviation human resources in the region.
