Vietnam Aviation Academy joins the UAV Network and the Low-Altitude Economy Alliance: A step forward into a new era of aviation.

The Vietnam Aviation Academy (VAA) has officially become a member of the Vietnam Aerospace and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems Network (AUVS VN), under the National Innovation Center (NIC) of the Ministry of Planning and Investment. At the same time, VAA is also a founding member of the Vietnam Low-Altitude Economy Alliance (LAE). These two organizations currently serve as key hubs connecting leading institutions, enterprises, and research centers in the fields of aviation, aerospace, and UAV technology in Vietnam.

The Vietnam Aviation Academy’s (VAA) entry into AUVS and LAE marks a strategic move in pioneering education and applied research in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology — a field that is currently receiving strong investment worldwide. According to the Low-Altitude Economy Alliance, Vietnam’s UAV ecosystem is expected to generate around one million jobs and bring in tens of billions of USD over the next 10–15 years, opening up tremendous growth potential for the national economy.

Joining these two networks enables the Vietnam Aviation Academy to expand its collaboration with domestic and international enterprises, research institutes, and organizations in areas such as UAVs, flight data, artificial intelligence, aviation security and safety, and low-altitude operations. With its modern flight simulation systems, virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) technologies, and application-oriented training programs, the Academy is steadily moving toward becoming an innovation hub for Vietnam’s aviation industry.

Sharing her vision for development, Dr. Nguyễn Thị Hải Hằng – Director of the Vietnam Aviation Academy – stated: “The low-altitude economy is a highly promising field. Training and research on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) will play a key role in building this ecosystem. We have developed a UAV engineering program that integrates knowledge of AI, Big Data, and other technologies into our curriculum. Additionally, we have established the Institute of Applied Science and Innovation to prepare human resources for the future, foster innovation, and enhance Vietnam’s position in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”

Becoming a member of the UAV Network and the Low-Altitude Economy Alliance reaffirms the Vietnam Aviation Academy’s pioneering role not only in high-quality human resource training but also in research, application, and technology transfer in modern aviation. This milestone represents a significant step forward, contributing to helping Vietnam “take off” confidently in the era of the low-altitude economy and next-generation aviation.
