VAA – SEMINAR “LEARNING FOREIGN LANGUAGE 2 IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TRAINING PROGRAM AT VIETNAM AVIATION ACADEMY: OPTIONS AND OPPORTUNITIES”
Entering the 4.0 era, exchanges, cooperation and work between citizens of other countries have become inevitable. Therefore, the ability to use multiple languages in a multicultural environment requires students to make constant efforts to become “global citizens”. English, French, Japanese, Korean, Chinese are some of the languages that have been widely spoken recently in work, business, and commerce, and students of the Vietnam Aviation Academy are no exception. Students must be ready to approach and learn a new language in addition to English in order to be able to be confident and brave in communicating and working in multinational companies, where the ability to use multiple foreign languages is required.
In order to introduce students to the brief characteristics of the language, culture, country, and people of France, Japan, Korea, and China so that they can have the right orientation when choosing to study a foreign language 2 at the school depending on their interests, goals and requirements of their future work. on the afternoon of November 25, 2022, the Faculty of Foreign Languages organized the Seminar “Learning Foreign Language 2 in the English Language training program at the Vietnam Aviation Academy: options and opportunities” with the participation of a large number of lecturers graduating from prestigious universities around the world.
At the seminar, Master Ngo Thi Lan Chi, a graduate of the University of Rouen / France, was enthusiastic and enthusiastic when introducing to VAA students about the advantages and opportunities when learning French. Master Le Kim Long – In charge of Japanese Language, Hung Vuong University, Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City shared the origin and number of Japanese characters as well as the advantages and difficulties of learning. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh Dung, a graduate of Hankuk University/Korea, highlights the dynamism of Korean culture and people and this is also evident in the Korean language. Master Nguyen Do Thien Kim, a graduate of Guangxi University/China, presented a concise set of Chinese hieroglyphs as well as the ability to work in foreign companies when students can make good use of the Chinese language.
The prized quiz games of the speakers not only made the atmosphere of the seminar more lively, but also made the students inculcate the shared knowledge. The performances, singing, dancing, and musical instrument performances of teachers and students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages in Year 1 and Year 2 made the atmosphere of the hall more joyful.
The seminar ended with a souvenir photo taken between the leaders of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, speakers, lecturers of the faculty and students.
Hopefully, after attending this seminar, English Language students will have more information to be able to choose for themselves a suitable 2nd language, to learn and learn besides the main language, English, to fill their luggage for their future careers before leaving VAA and joining the elite workforce global./.
