ADP Group shares experience in airport planning and design at Vietnam Aviation Academy
On the afternoon of February 20, 2023 at hall A301, leaders of the Faculty of Civil Engineering (Vietnam Aviation Academy) and senior experts from ADP Group (Aeroports de Paris – France) – Mr. Philippe DELAPLACE, Deputy Director – had a session to share experiences in airport design and planning for lecturers and students of the Academy.
On the side of the Vietnam Aviation Academy, there was the participation of Dr. Nguyen Thi Hai Hang – Director of the Academy; ASS. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dat – Head of the Faculty of Construction; TS. Nguyen Phi Long – Interpreter and lecturers of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Aeronautical Operations and students of the Vietnam Aviation Academy are interested in this topic.

The Faculty of Civil Engineering – Vietnam Aviation Academy – with the mission of providing high-quality human resources with in-depth expertise in airport and airport construction for Vietnam in the coming time, determines that this is the mission of the Faculty and the Academy. The Faculty of Construction was established in 2021 and started enrolling the first course in the 2021-2022 academic year, the faculty has a team of lecturers with deep professional qualifications in the construction industry, trained from countries with developed and dynamic science and technology in the world such as Russia, etc France, England, Korea. In addition, the Aviation Construction major of the Vietnam Aviation Academy is receiving support from specialized management agencies and global corporations, so students studying the major will have many opportunities to develop their expertise and development potential in the aviation industry after graduation.
According to the strategy to develop the airport system in Vietnam with a vision to 2050, the Government is advocating to gradually upgrade and effectively exploit existing airports, invest in 06 new airports to bring the total number of airports in the country to 28 ports. The total design capacity of the airport system will meet about 278 million passengers, ensuring that over 95% of the population can access the port within 100km. By 2050, 29 airports will be formed, including 14 international ports and 15 domestic ports. It is forecasted that with the rapid development of aviation infrastructure in the period of 2020 – 2050 in Vietnam, 10,000 specialized airport construction engineers will be needed in the coming years.
The seminar was held with the support of ADP Group on airport planning as one of the series of activities to exchange and share in-depth knowledge about aviation chaired by the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
During the seminar, expert Philippe DELAPLACE shared a lot of valuable practical experiences in the process of planning airports in the world that ADP Group has accumulated and experienced in the past 60 years, including the planning and development process of Charge de Gaulle airport (Paris – France) – the 2nd largest transshipment airport Europe is operated and exploited by ADP Group. These valuable contents have helped experts, lecturers, and students majoring in airport construction have more practical perspectives, and see the development potential of the aviation industry in Vietnam in the coming time. During the seminar, many questions were asked and exchanged and shared.
In addition, the representative of ADP company also proposed to coordinate with the Faculty of Construction in supporting and accepting internship students, accepting students of the faculty after graduation in the coming time.

Summarizing the exchange, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hai Hang summarized and shared her experience, as if affirming the close coordination between the Vietnam Aviation Academy and ADP Group in the field of professional training in the field of aviation construction in the future. At the same time, the Director also hopes that the two sides will promote cooperation to promote each other’s strengths in fields such as development, human resource training, sharing of experience and resources of the group for the Academy in the future.
