Strengthening International Cooperation in Aviation Industry between UNSW Sydney School of Aviation and Vietnam Aviation Academy
On the afternoon of March 13, 2025, at the Vietnam Aviation Academy, there was an important working session between representatives of the UNSW Sydney School of Aviation and leaders from three faculties of the Vietnam Aviation Academy: Aviation Economics, Aviation Engineering and Aviation Operations. This is an important opportunity for the two sides to discuss cooperation opportunities in aviation training, research and development, contributing to promoting the development of the aviation industry in both countries.
On behalf of UNSW Sydney, there are:
- Professor Brett Molesworth, Head of School
- UNSW Aviation Ms. Lorda Omeissah, the Business Development Manager at UNSW Sydney.
On behalf of the Vietnam Aviation Academy, there are:
- Dr. Co Tan Anh Vu – Deputy Director of Vietnam Aviation Academy, Head of Aviation Economics Department
- Dr. Luu Van Thuan – Head of Department of Aeronautical Engineering
- Dr. Phan Thanh Minh – Head of Aviation Operations Department
- MSc. Ho Thi Vu Hien – Deputy Head of Aviation Operations Department.

The meeting took place in a solemn and serious atmosphere.
This meeting marks an important step forward in promoting cooperation between UNSW Sydney, one of Australia’s leading universities, and Vietnam Aviation Academy. At the meeting, the two sides discussed:
– Training and student exchange programs: The two sides discussed the implementation of student exchange programs, helping Vietnamese students access the advanced education system of UNSW Sydney and creating opportunities for UNSW students to conduct practical research in Vietnam.
– Research collaboration: UNSW Sydney shares research on emerging technologies such as AI, Big Data, and automation in aviation. Both parties are committed to collaborative research to improve service quality, flight safety, and operational efficiency.
– Advanced Training for Lecturers: Discuss in-depth training courses for Vietnamese lecturers, helping to improve teaching quality and update new methods in the industry.
– Seminars and specialized events: The two sides agreed to organize specialized events to create opportunities for knowledge and experience exchange between experts, lecturers and students.

Representatives of Vietnam Aviation Academy and UNSW Sydney School of Aviation took a souvenir photo after the exchange session.
The cooperation with UNSW Sydney will help Vietnam Aviation Academy to increasingly improve the quality of training, develop human resources and access advanced technology, thereby enhancing competitiveness in the international aviation industry. This working session is the first step for a sustainable cooperative relationship, with the goal of promoting long-term cooperation projects, contributing to the overall development of the aviation industry in the region. From this event, the strategic relationship between UNSW Sydney and aviation education institutions in Vietnam promises to bring positive results and contribute to the sustainable development of the aviation industry.
