Smart Tourism Research Project Successfully Accepted at Vietnam Aviation Academy
On April 14, 2025, at Vietnam Aviation Academy, the Scientific and Technological Council conducted the evaluation and acceptance of the research project titled “Current Status and Solutions for Developing a Smart Tourism System to Attract Visitors to Can Tho City.”
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ha Nam Khanh Giao, the research team proposed practical solutions to modernize tourism in the Mekong Delta region. The project was highly regarded for its practical applicability and ability to align with digital-era tourism development trends.
The study synthesized and analyzed global smart tourism development trends, subsequently proposing solutions tailored to the local context. Specifically, it emphasized the role of information and communication technology in enhancing tourist experiences, connecting stakeholders, and optimizing destination management.
This project not only contributes to Can Tho’s tourism development but also opens new research directions for technology applications in Vietnam’s tourism sector. The findings will serve as an important foundation for local authorities, businesses, and communities to implement smart tourism solutions toward sustainable development.

The acceptance session concluded successfully with strong consensus from the evaluation council. This marks a crucial stepping stone in establishing Can Tho as a leading smart tourism destination in the Mekong Delta region.
