Signing with the Ho Dac Scholarship Foundation: “Opening the runway” for VAA engineering students to soar further

Vietnam Aviation Academy officially signed a cooperation agreement with the Ho Dac Scholarship Foundation.

Beyond financial support, the core of this partnership lies in a comprehensive support ecosystem for students. Accordingly, students will have opportunities to receive annual scholarships, access specialized academic resources, and participate in research and academic activities. Notably, they will also be supported in registering international patents, paving the way for student-developed technological ideas to reach the global market.

Mr. Bernard Ho Dac Tan (son of Ho Dac Cung), Founding Chairman of the Foundation, shared that the fund was established to promote the spirit of learning, innovation, and perseverance—values inspired by the life and legacy of Ho Dac Cung and passed on to today’s younger generation.

Both parties took commemorative photos following the signing ceremony.

Few may know that Ho Dac Cung—the inspiration behind the Foundation—was born into a farming family in Cai Lay (Tien Giang). He later studied electrical engineering in France and carried the dream of building a “made-in-Vietnam” aircraft. On October 26, 1935, he successfully completed his first flight departing from Tan Son Nhat, becoming one of the pioneering civil aviators in Indochina and a symbol of daring to dream big, take action, and conquer the skies.
