PROFESSIONAL PRACTICUM IN THE PHILIPPINES CONCLUDES WITH GRADUATION CEREMONY AND MOU SIGNING BETWEEN FACULTY OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES (VIETNAM AVIATION ACADEMY) AND PTC AVIATION
Following two intensive days of safety and emergency response training, Phase 2 of the Blended Aviation Professional Skills & Communication Training (BFAOP) program at PTC Aviation Training Center (Parañaque, Manila, Philippines) continued with in-depth, practice-oriented experiences for students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Vietnam Aviation Academy (VAA). These ranged from mastering professional poise and excelling in panel interviews to hands-on firefighting and survival swimming. The phase (September 15-20) culminated in a solemn graduation ceremony and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking a milestone in international collaboration between the VAA Faculty of Foreign Languages and PTC Aviation.
On September 17, students moved into more practical and demanding training modules.
Before classes began, students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Vietnam Aviation Academy had the opportunity to interact with Filipino trainees at PTC Aviation who are preparing to become flight attendants. Open conversations, the exchange of experiences, and comparisons of learning journeys deepened their understanding of cultural perspectives, training approaches, and nurtured a spirit of international connection.
The day’s sessions included:
-
Make-up: Guided by Ms. Arlyn Caballero and Ms. Glenda Nicanor, students practiced the standard flight attendant makeup routine: natural base, balanced eye-cheek-lip tones— designed for an elegant, lasting in-flight appearance.
-
Poise and Posture: Ms. Tisha Hidalgo and Ms. Glenda Nicanor trained students in posture, walking, seated elegance, and confident smiles—subtle but essential details shaping a professional image.

-
Panel Interview: Led by Ms. Ria Ama, Mr. Galen Cid, Ms. Arlyn Caballero, and Ms. Glenda Nicanor, students experienced the challenge of a mock recruitment panel, learning to remain calm, confident, and articulate before potential employers.

- In-flight Service: Ms. Maripaz Cruz and Ms. Crisselle Agbayani guided students through passenger service essentials, complaint handling, and maintaining professionalism in every situation.
On September 18, under the supervision of Ms. Ria Ama and Ms. Mina Abarico, students engaged in full-scale cabin simulations: welcoming passengers, delivering safety demonstrations, meal service, and managing emergency scenarios. This session bridged theory with real-world practice, immersing students in the pace and pressure of the flight attendant role.
On September 19, students traveled to Maragondon, Cavite for intensive training in fire fighting and survival swimming at The MAST. Guided by Ms. Ria Ama, Ms. Mina Abarico, Mr. Ren La’O, and Ms. Crisselle Agbayani, participants practiced fire suppression, life vest use, water jumps, group floating, and rescue swimming. Beyond survival skills, the training fostered discipline, teamwork, and calmness under pressure, qualities vital in aviation emergencies.
On September 20, before the certificate ceremony, students attended a special lecture by Mr. Joel Tuquib, who had also delivered the first session of Phase 2. His closing session blended aviation realities with deeply human values, using metaphors and motivational activities that left lasting impressions.
One of the most memorable moments came when students wrote their dreams and aspirations on paper, folded them into paper airplanes, and released them together into the sky—a symbolic sendoff for their ambitions to soar toward the future.
The official ceremony opened with the national anthems of both countries, followed by the awarding of pins, completion certificates, and special recognitions to 24 students from Faculty of Foreign Languages – Vietnam Aviation Academy.
Alongside the students, faculty members who facilitated the program were honored with Certificates of Appreciation from PTC Aviation.
The ending of the ceremony was made even more meaningful by the presence of the Filipino trainees, who had become close friends and an integral part of the shared journey.
Another highlight of the day was the signing of the MOU between PTC Aviation and Faculty of Foreign Languages (Vietnam Aviation Academy). This agreement paves the way for expanded cooperation in training, contributing to the future development of highly qualified aviation professionals.
In just one week, students of Faculty of Foreign Languages – Vietnam Aviation Academy accumulated a wealth of professional skills and broadened their cultural horizons. Importantly, the PTC Aviation training also fulfilled one of the options for professional practice required in the Graduation Internship Plan 2025.
The BFAOP 2025 training at PTC Aviation was not merely a program, it was a journey of growth, cultural exchange, and professional readiness. For the students of Faculty of Foreign Languages – Vietnam Aviation Academy, it remains an unforgettable milestone on their path to conquering the skies.
