Introduction
The Faculty of Aviation Operations is one of the key faculties of the Vietnam Aviation Academy, the only training, research and technology transfer unit in the field of Flight Operations Management and Air Traffic Control in Vietnam.
The Faculty of Aviation Operations has the mission of training Flight Operations Management Engineers, Air Traffic Controllers as well as top-quality aviation management staff in the Vietnamese aviation industry.
History of formation
Since the establishment of Vietnam Aviation Academy, the Air Traffic Department was formed and developed in 2007. In order to expand training, research and technology transfer according to the development trend of society, in July 2021, the Air Traffic Department merged with the Airport Department and changed its name to the Faculty of Aviation Operations as it is today.
The faculty logo is a perfect combination of the letter “A” designed in a stylized image of an air traffic control tower and the letter “O” representing the continuous operation of radar signals from the air traffic tower.
Organizational structure
The current staff of the Aviation Operations Department includes 01 PhD, 02 PhD students, 04 Masters, 07 Engineers along with many highly qualified experts and guest lecturers with experience in air traffic control operations.
The Aviation Operations Department currently has 04 departments:
- Flight operations control
- Flight operations organization and operation
- Flight operations support services
- Communication, navigation, surveillance
