On the morning of December 3, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony took place at the Vietnam Aviation Academy between the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the Vietnam Aviation Academy and the English Language Center of Lapulapu-Cebu International University.

Lapulapu-Cebu International University is a university located in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines. It offers a variety of educational programs with strengths in tourism management, foreign languages, and more. The university is known for its emphasis on providing high-quality education and preparing students to meet the demands of the international labor market. It also maintains partnerships with international organizations and companies, providing students with opportunities for internships and employment abroad.
The MOU signing ceremony was held in Room 301 of the Vietnam Aviation Academy
Attending the event, representing the Vietnam Aviation Academy, were Dr. Co Tan Anh Vu – Vice Director; Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhu Diep – Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages; along with lecturers and students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages. On behalf of Lapulapu-Cebu International College, Mr. Mark Ryen Anderson – Director of the English Language Research Center, and Ms. Le Thi Huong – Marketing Manager of the institution, were present.
In her speech at the event, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhu Diep emphasized the importance of and highly appreciated the cooperation with Lapulapu-Cebu International University. She noted that this partnership provides significant opportunities for students to study and work abroad, enhancing the reputation and brand of the Vietnam Aviation Academy.
Mr. Mark Ryen Anderson, Director of the English Language Research Center, also shared his thoughts, stating that the Vietnam Aviation Academy is one of the partner institutions he holds in high regard. He praised the academy for its strong human resources, modern facilities, and open-minded approach, making it an ideal partner for long-term collaboration. With a focus on learners, he expressed hope that students from both institutions would have abundant opportunities to study and develop in the future.

On this occasion, Lapulapu-Cebu International University also awarded scholarships to students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, each valued at over 2,000 USD. The signing of the MOU aims to establish a long-term partnership between the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Lapulapu-Cebu International University. This collaboration seeks to promote and expand the international cooperation network of the Faculty, laying the groundwork for enhancing the quality of training, increasing job opportunities, and creating an effective English learning environment for students.
The agreement also opens up opportunities for students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages to study abroad and immerse themselves in an international English-learning environment in the future.
Additionally, the event featured a training session on “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs) presented by Mr. Mark Ryen Anderson. The session provided students and faculty members with a deeper understanding of the importance of sustainable development, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to build a brighter future not only for education but also for other fields.

The event also featured a cultural exchange program, which included a Vietnamese food tasting and the creation of Dong Ho paintings. Representatives from Lapulapu-Cebu International University were delighted and excited to try traditional Vietnamese dishes such as banana cakes, baked cassava cakes, various types of sweet soups, and more. Mr. Mark Ryen Anderson, along with lecturers and students, thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on experience of creating Dong Ho paintings, a form of art that showcases the essence of Vietnam’s folk culture.
