The Vietnam Aviation Academy organizes courses on the application of AI in teaching and scientific research.

The Vietnam Aviation Academy will organize classes on the application of AI in training and scientific research to enhance the teaching and research capacity of teaching staff. The course content is as follows:

1. Course duration: from December 23, 2024 – January 15, 2025

2. Course objectives:

  • Raise awareness: Help teachers understand AI clearly, its applications in education and research.
  • Training skills: Equip instructors with basic skills to use AI tools and platforms in teaching and research.
  • Developing capabilities: Encourage instructors to be creative and apply AI in the creation of lectures, learning materials, and research projects.

3. Detailed content and duration:

Module 1: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • Duration: 2-3 sessions
  • Content: 
    The concept of AI, history of development, and types of AI
    Applications of AI in daily life and various fields
    Applications of AI in education and scientific research
    Popular AI tools and platforms

Module 2: Basic AI Tools and Platforms

  • Duration: 4-5 sessions
  • Content:
    Guidance on using data processing tools (Python, R, …)
    Introduction to popular machine learning libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, …)
    Guidance on building simple machine learning models
    Using online tools to create AI applications (Google Colab, Kaggle, …)

Module 3: Application of AI in Teaching

  • Duration: 3-4 sessions
  • Content:
    Automating administrative tasks (grading, classroom management)
    Creating interactive lessons using videos, images, and audio
    Building automatic student competency assessment systems
    Personalizing the learning process for each student

Module 4: Applications of AI in Scientific Research

  • Duration: 3-4 sessions
  • Content:
    Processing big data in scientific research
    Building predictive and classification models
    Applying AI to solve specific research problems in each field

Module 5: Practice and Projects

  • Duration: 4-5 sessions
  • Content:
    Students practice building small projects related to the application of AI in teaching and research
    Discussion and presentation of project results

4. Organization format:

  • In-person classes: Organize theory lessons combined with practical sessions.Online learning: Use online learning platforms such as Moodle, Google Classroom to provide materials, assignments, and discussion forums.

  • Combine both forms: Organize live classes for discussions and questions, combined with online learning to encourage students to take initiative in their studies.

5. Teaching staff:
– Instructors with expertise in AI: Invite AI experts to teach or faculty members from the IT Department who have research experience in AI.
– Instructors with teaching experience: Instructors need to be able to communicate knowledge clearly and generate interest among students.

6. Evaluation of results:

  • Test: Assessing the theoretical knowledge of students.
  • Project: Evaluating students’ ability to apply knowledge in practice.
  • Student feedback: Collecting student feedback to improve the quality of the course.
