The delegation was received by Mr. Guan Li Xin, Chairman of CAFUC, Mr. Tang Qing Ru, Vice Chairman of CAFUC, and the leadership of the various schools and training institutions under CAFUC. On behalf of CAFUC, Mr. Guan Li Xin warmly welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trần Hoài An and the delegation. He reviewed the previous exchanges and cooperation between the two institutions and provided an overview of the university.
He mentioned that CAFUC is a university directly under the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and has a modern educational philosophy, state-of-the-art facilities, and teaching equipment that are among the best in the country. Since its establishment in the 1950s, CAFUC has consistently trained a large number of outstanding professionals for China’s civil aviation industry. He also emphasized that with Vietnam’s rapid economic growth and infrastructure development in recent years, there is an increasing need for high-quality aviation personnel. Therefore, comprehensive cooperation between the two institutions is essential.
Mr. Guan highlighted that the collaboration between the two universities in training highly skilled human resources serves as a foundation for the cooperation between the civil aviation sectors of China and Vietnam, thereby fostering the development of the civil aviation industries in both countries.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trần Hoài An expressed his gratitude for the warm reception extended by CAFUC to the VAA delegation and emphasized the desire for both sides to engage in discussions focused on practical and effective cooperation. He also requested CAFUC’s support for VAA in areas where CAFUC excels. He underscored that the cooperation agreement signed between the two institutions is not merely a formal collaboration, but the establishment of a long-term and sustainable partnership for the future.
After two days of discussions, both parties agreed on the content and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering the following areas of cooperation: training high-quality aviation human resources in fields such as Flight Operations Management, Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Electronics, Aviation Security and Safety, and Pilot Training; scientific research collaboration; and exchange of faculty and students.
After the ceremony, the VAA delegation visited the CAFUC History Museum and held meetings with the following affiliated institutions: the Air Traffic Management School, the Aviation Meteorology School, the Civil Aviation Administration Inspection School, the Civil Aviation Test Flight School, the Pilot Training School, the Flight Attendant Training School, the Simulation Center, and the Aircraft Engine Maintenance Training Center.
The delegation was invited to tour a newly built campus in Chengdu. This modern higher education facility covers over 100 hectares of land, with more than 1.1 million square meters of built-up area. It is fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to support training and scientific research for more than 25,000 faculty members and students.
After the visit and on-site observations, the delegation concluded that with its four training campuses, five flight schools with their own airports, and modern teaching facilities, CAFUC is a leading institution in aviation training in China. It is considered one of the top universities in the world for training aviation professionals.
At the end of the mission, Mr. Trần Hoài An expressed his gratitude to CAFUC for the warm hospitality and for providing comprehensive support to the delegation. He assured that the Vietnam Aviation Academy (VAA) would soon begin implementing the contents outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding.
Mr. Guan Li Xin and the leadership representatives of CAFUC bid farewell to the delegation in a warm and friendly atmosphere, expressing their confidence that both sides would soon carry out the practical and effective cooperation initiatives.
