GREEN SUMMER 2025: ĐẮK Ơ – 14 DAYS OF BUILDING, GROWTH AND DEDICATION
AN ENDING THAT MARKS A BEGINNING – YOUTH CULTIVATES A MEANINGFUL AND AFFECTIONATE SUMMER

After 14 days of volunteer work in the border area of Đắk Ơ, 40 student volunteers from the Vietnam Aviation Academy officially completed and handed over a series of meaningful youth projects. The campaign concluded with a solemn closing ceremony, leaving behind pride and a profound impression in the hearts of the local community.

The 14-day journey, symbolized by the vibrant green of the Academy’s students, has officially come to an end in Đắk Ơ.

In the remote borderland of Đắk Ơ—where national frontiers are marked by many hardships—the presence of Green Summer volunteers from the Vietnam Aviation Academy brought vitality, dedication, and youthful enthusiasm. On August 1, 2025, the closing ceremony not only marked the conclusion of their devoted efforts but also affirmed the campaign’s lasting values, spreading solidarity and compassion through concrete and meaningful actions.

Joyful and emotional expressions were seen as delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the completed project.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of Dr. Nguyễn Thị Hải Hằng – Director of the Vietnam Aviation Academy; Mr. Vũ Minh Thái – Deputy Secretary in charge of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Construction; along with representatives of the Academy’s staff, local authorities, armed forces of Đắk Ơ Commune, and a large number of local residents.

On this occasion, Dr. Nguyễn Thị Hải Hằng – Director of the Vietnam Aviation Academy – presented a Letter of Appreciation to the local authorities of Đắk Ơ Commune, acknowledging their close coordination and dedicated support throughout the Green Summer 2025 campaign at the Đắk Ơ Front.

Throughout the campaign, 40 volunteers immersed themselves in the daily lives of local residents, enduring harsh weather conditions, sudden tropical downpours, and the scorching mid-season heat. They successfully completed and handed over four key youth projects: the Youth House, the Youth Well, and two playgrounds for children. In addition, they organized the “Green Classroom – Nurturing Knowledge” program to support local children with lessons in English, IT, and life skills; conducted legal awareness campaigns and social safety workshops; coordinated free medical check-ups and distributed medicines to disadvantaged households; donated essential supplies; visited and extended care to families under social protection policies; and organized visits to martyrs’ cemeteries in Đắk Ơ Commune to pay tribute to fallen heroes, thereby promoting the nation’s tradition of gratitude and remembrance.

The highlight youth projects were inaugurated on the morning of August 1, 2025, in the presence of delegates and local residents.

A central focus of the campaign was the timely completion of youth projects with guaranteed quality and aesthetics. These were not only tangible infrastructure works but also a testament to the spirit of volunteerism—proving that “where there is a need for youth, there will be youth.” Every brick laid, every roof erected bore the strength, effort, and dedication of the young volunteers.

The inauguration and handover of the “Youth House” to the family of Mr. Nguyễn Chí Tâm in Đắk Ơ Commune, Đồng Nai Province—one of the most significant projects of the Green Summer 2025 campaign—was carried out by the students of the Vietnam Aviation Academy.

Meanwhile, the “Youth Well” project delivered a source of clean and cool water to local residents, contributing to improved living conditions and spreading the spirit of solidarity within the community.

The inauguration of the “Children’s Playground” project took place in an atmosphere of joy, bringing safe and beneficial recreational space to students at Đinh Bộ Lĩnh Primary School.

At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyễn Thị Hải Hằng – Director of the Vietnam Aviation Academy – affirmed that the 2025 Green Summer Campaign at the Đắk Ơ Front was a vivid demonstration of the vibrant volunteer spirit, social responsibility, and aspiration to contribute of Vietnamese youth. She expressed pride in the volunteers, who not only completed their assigned tasks but also delivered meaningful projects for the community. These efforts, she emphasized, further spread the beautiful image of Academy students as resilient, creative, and compassionate young people.

Dr. Nguyễn Thị Hải Hằng also highlighted the spirit of volunteerism as a driving force for the youth of the Vietnam Aviation Academy.

During the inauguration of the “Youth Well” project, Mr. Vũ Minh Thái – Deputy Secretary in charge of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Construction – commended the dedication, hard work, and solidarity of the volunteers. He emphasized: “These projects are not only of material and practical value, but also carry great spiritual significance, igniting faith, unity, and aspirations for development among local residents. It is hoped that after this campaign, each volunteer will continue to uphold the spirit of volunteerism, bringing enthusiasm and compassion to wherever they go”.

Mr. Vũ Minh Thái reiterated this message in his address at the inauguration of the “Youth Well” project.

The joy of the completed projects – with the flow of clean, refreshing water reaching the community – symbolizes hope, connection, and solidarity.

Representatives of Đắk Ơ Commune authorities expressed gratitude for the contributions of the youth volunteers from the Vietnam Aviation Academy, recognizing their efforts as a valuable act of solidarity in building and developing life in the borderlands. “The projects and activities carried out by the volunteers will not only remain today, but will leave a lasting legacy for the community”, a local representative shared with emotion.

Mr. Hoàng Cử – Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Đắk Ơ Commune Party Committee – also conveyed his appreciation to the volunteers of the Green Summer Campaign from the Vietnam Aviation Academy for their meaningful contributions to the locality.

Beyond days of hard work, the campaign was also a journey of experiences, sharing, and bonds. Volunteers integrated into the daily life of local people, living in modest conditions, sitting together around campfires, and enjoying simple yet warm meals. Though brief, those moments became cherished memories, filled with youthful enthusiasm and solidarity.

The summer campfire blazed brightly through the night, connecting the hearts of Green Summer volunteers and local residents in a warm and meaningful atmosphere.

At the campaign’s closing ceremony in Đắk Ơ, outstanding volunteers were commended and honored with certificates of recognition. Local authorities expressed heartfelt thanks to the Vietnam Aviation Academy for its companionship, dedication, and profound contributions to volunteer activities in the border area.

The Green Summer volunteers from the Vietnam Aviation Academy received Certificates of Merit from the Đắk Ơ Commune Youth Union, acknowledging their active contributions to the 2025 campaign.

After 14 days, the volunteers returned with more than skills and knowledge—they carried with them touching stories of humanity, solidarity, and social responsibility. Though farewells were exchanged, the sparkling eyes of children, the firm handshakes of local residents, and the radiant smiles on the day of project completion will forever remain a source of motivation for the youth of the Vietnam Aviation Academy as they embark on new journeys.

Concluding this meaningful 14-day campaign, the students of the Academy not only gained practical skills and knowledge but also precious life lessons and unforgettable stories of compassion.

The Green Summer Campaign 2025 in Đắk Ơ has officially come to an end, yet the values it created will continue to spread. The first bricks laid today are not merely the foundation of new structures, but also symbols of hope and renewal in this land. The flame of volunteerism—burning with the aspirations of youth—will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of every volunteer, writing new chapters of vibrant Green Summers across the nation.
