FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE: STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES, VIETNAM AVIATION ACADEMY AT VILOG 2025 INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION
From July 31 to August 2, 2025, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), the Faculty of Foreign Languages – Vietnam Aviation Academy organized a field trip for students to attend the 3rd Vietnam International Logistics Exhibition (VILOG 2025), under the theme “Digital Transformation and Green Development in Logistics.” This academic extracurricular activity plays a vital role in the faculty’s strategy to enhance students’ expertise, language proficiency, and career readiness in the context of global integration.
VILOG 2025 is a large-scale international event, bringing together hundreds of enterprises, associations, and experts from Vietnam and around the world in the fields of logistics, transportation, e-commerce, and smart supply chains. Students had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies showcased at the exhibition, including automated warehouse management systems, green transportation models, smart logistics solutions, and digital transformation applications in supply chain management.
Through direct observation and interaction at the event, students not only broadened their specialized knowledge but also developed interdisciplinary thinking—especially in applying professional English in real-world contexts such as logistics, international trade, and aviation. The exhibition created a valuable bridge between classroom theory and the practical demands of the modern labor market.
A highlight of the program was a series of expert seminars organized by Techcombank, ITL Corporation, and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), covering key topics such as digital transformation, logistics finance, the CASS payment system, and the role of international freight agents. During the discussions and Q&A sessions, students demonstrated confidence, professionalism, and fluency in English as they engaged directly with guest speakers, industry experts, and business representatives.
To encourage reflection and consolidate the knowledge gained, each student was required to submit a 500-word individual reflection paper (in English), sharing insights, key takeaways, and perspectives on the importance of language skills in the global workplace. This assignment provided an opportunity to demonstrate academic writing ability, critical thinking, and the ability to connect theory with practice.
Through this practical-academic initiative, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the Vietnam Aviation Academy continues to affirm its commitment to training graduates who are not only proficient in foreign languages but also equipped with solid professional knowledge and ready to meet the demands of the labor market in the digital age.
