Faculty of Civil Engineering: Study Tour 2 – Students visit My Thuan Project Management Unit

On the afternoon of March 7, 2025, students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Vietnam Aviation Academy, had the opportunity to visit and gain practical experience at the My Thuan Project Management Unit (PMU) as part of the Internship Awareness Program course.

Program objectives

• Provide students with a realistic understanding of the management and implementation of key transportation infrastructure projects.

• Enhance understanding of the role of engineers in project management.

• Offer career orientation and opportunities to learn from experienced professionals in the field.

Meeting and discussion at My Thuan PMU

The delegation was welcomed by representatives from the My Thuan PMU, including:

• Mr. Phan Duy Lai – Deputy Director, who delivered a welcome speech

• Mr. Phạm Văn Khúc – Chief of Office, who introduced the organizational structure, functions, and responsibilities of the PMU

• Mr. Phan Thanh Thịnh – Head of Planning and General Affairs, who presented the project implementation process for major infrastructure works

• Mr. Võ Quốc Bảo – Head of Planning and Appraisal, who shared insights on the roles and responsibilities of engineers in project management

• Mr. Nguyễn Quang Dũng – who provided an overview of the progress of the Can Tho – Ca Mau subproject under the North–South Expressway Program (2021–2025)

• Along with other senior leaders and core personnel, who shared real-world experiences and provided career guidance to the students

Program highlights

• Screening of a video introducing My Thuan PMU’s activities in 2024

• In-depth overview of major transportation projects under the PMU’s management

• Interactive Q&A session and career consultation with experts in construction and project management

• The visit offered students valuable exposure to real-world practices in the field of transportation infrastructure, a deeper understanding of project management, and clearer career orientation
