ENHANCING RESEARCH CAPACITY AND INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC INTEGRATION: THE INTELLECTUAL JOURNEY OF VAA FACULTY OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES STUDENTS AT ISSF 2024
On 22 July 2025, in Room A101, Campus 1 – Vietnam Aviation Academy (VAA), a group of students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages was officially awarded Certificates of Achievement for their outstanding participation in the International Student Science Forum (ISSF) 2024, marking a remarkable milestone in their journey of international academic integration and research capacity development.
The International Student Science Forum (ISSF) is an annual academic event organized by the Center for Youth Science and Technology Development in Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to create a prestigious academic platform for outstanding students from various countries. With the goal of promoting international academic exchange, sharing innovative ideas, and encouraging interdisciplinary research, ISSF 2024 attracted hundreds of delegates from across the Asia-Pacific region.
At ISSF 2024, a team of six students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages – VAA delivered impressive presentations on two outstanding research topics, earning the prestigious “Best Research Paper” award – one of the forum’s highest honors. Their research projects were highly praised for their creativity, practical applicability, and contributions to the community, particularly in interdisciplinary fields such as intercultural communication, applied linguistics, and the role of language in connecting global communities.
In addition to presenting and engaging in academic discussions at the poster session held on 26 June 2025, the students also participated in enriching extracurricular activities on 28 June 2025, including a visit to Rung Sac Revolutionary Base and the Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve, gaining multi-dimensional experiences in academic, environmental, and cultural contexts.
On 22 July 2025, a formal certificate awarding and recognition ceremony was held to honor the students’ achievements. At the same event, Mr. Nguyen Phu Dai and Ms. Nguyen Thu Huyen – the two lecturers who accompanied and mentored the students throughout their research journey – were also presented with Certificates of Appreciation for their dedicated support, guidance, and contributions to the team’s success at the international forum.
The success at ISSF is not only a source of pride for both students and faculty but also a clear testament to the sustainable academic development strategy pursued by the Faculty and the Academy – emphasizing expanded learning spaces, the integration of theory and practice, and a strong commitment to international academic engagement in higher education.
Looking ahead, the Faculty of Foreign Languages – Vietnam Aviation Academy will continue to promote in-depth academic activities, support the development of student research clubs, and foster international cooperation. The aim is to build a modern educational environment – one in which each student not only learns to know, but also learns to create, connect, and contribute to the global flow of knowledge.
