CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE 2024 GREEN SUMMER VOLUNTEER CAMPAIGN AT VIETNAM AVIATION AVIATION

“In every moment of the Green Summer campaign, we dedicate our youthful knowledge to the development of our homeland, with our passionate spirit ignited by dreams and aspirations.”

Inheriting the legacy of the “Summer Cultural Light” Campaign launched in 1994, today’s “Green Summer” Campaign has become one of the most prominent volunteer movements of Vietnamese youth during the summer. It features a wide range of activities designed to awaken and promote the spirit of volunteerism and youth dynamism, while providing an environment for Youth Union members to demonstrate their sense of responsibility in the cause of national development and defense. In that same spirit, the 2024 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign of Vietnam Aviation Academy was carefully planned and implemented across various provinces and localities. Through this campaign, students devoted their youthful energy to protecting, preserving, and building the nation. At the same time, they embraced the mission of spreading meaningful human values and sharing in the hardships of people living in remote mountainous regions.

As of the end of September 2024, the Vietnam Aviation Academy’s Green Summer Volunteer Campaign has officially come to a close. Another summer has passed, yet the memories of those days—when we stood united, heading to rural areas and braving sun and rain for the peaceful lives of local people—remain as vivid as ever. For the Green-shirted volunteers, the campaign was not just about giving and sharing positive values. It was also a meaningful journey—one that nurtured personal growth, broadened understanding, and deepened compassion. To mark the end of this impactful journey, the Campaign Command Board organized a Closing Ceremony to express gratitude and reflect on the unforgettable moments experienced throughout the campaign.

The Closing Ceremony began with an energetic and vibrant warm-up performance, creating an impressive and lively atmosphere led by the enthusiastic student volunteers.

Following the lively and spirited opening led by the Green Summer volunteers, comrade Nguyen Thanh Hao — Commander of the Green Summer Campaign and Secretary of the Youth Union of Vietnam Aviation Academy — delivered a summary report on the campaign’s progress and outcomes. Through a wide range of programs and activities across multiple fields, the campaign achieved significant success, fulfilling its mission of spreading positive values and sharing in the hardships faced by communities throughout the country. In addition, Mrs. Nguyen Thanh Hao also highlighted memorable images capturing the heartfelt moments and meaningful contributions of student volunteers across different teams and locations.

Following the campaign summary report by comrade Nguyen Thanh Hao, the Executive Board of the Academy extended their congratulations to the young volunteers for successfully completing their assigned tasks. The Academy’s leaders also offered remarks on both the strengths and areas for improvement observed throughout the campaign. These reflections served as motivation and encouragement, with the hope that future campaigns will continue to grow and improve in both scale and impact.

Besides the remarks and guidance from the Academy’s Executive Board and comrade Nguyen Thanh Hao, Commander of the Campaign, the Closing Ceremony continued with an awards segment honoring hundreds of young volunteers from Vietnam Aviation Academy. Each volunteer played a vital role in the remarkable success of this year’s campaign. As a gesture of gratitude for their dedication, contributions, and tireless efforts, the Campaign Command Board, in collaboration with partner units, personally presented commemorative gifts, certificates of participation, and certificates of merit to the volunteers. It is hoped that these meaningful tokens will serve as motivation, keeping the flame of passion alive in the hearts of young people and inspiring future campaigns for years to come.

The 2024 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign of Vietnam Aviation Academy brought each volunteer precious memories along their youthful journey of dedication and service. Over the course of three months, the sweat-soaked blue shirts and checkered scarves accompanied the students through days of sun and rain, through pure laughter carried by the wind on three-wheeled motorbikes, through tears shed for the hardships faced by remote communities, and through the moments of solidarity as teammates, standing together in unfamiliar lands, united under one mission.

It is hoped that these cherished memories will live on in the hearts of our volunteers and become a powerful source of inspiration, fueling the spirit of volunteerism in future generations. Once again, the entire Campaign Command Board extends our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all volunteers for their unwavering efforts and dedication. Farewell for now—and until we meet again!
