PARIS TRAINING TRIP: A NEW STEP FORWARD FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING, VIETNAM AVIATION ACADEMY
Updating knowledge, elevating international cooperation
From October 21 to 26, 2024, the faculty delegation from the Department of Civil Engineering, Vietnam Aviation Academy, successfully completed a study tour and training at three major airports in Paris, France: Charles de Gaulle, Orly, and Le Bourget. The trip, coordinated by Aéroports de Paris (ADP) in collaboration with the Vietnam Aviation Academy (VAA), marks a new step in international cooperation and the enhancement of the professional capacity of the teaching staff.n.
Journey to explore the “aviation capitals”
With a well-structured itinerary, the training trip provided the delegation with valuable practical experiences:
Le Bourget Airport (23/10): Not only did they admire the historical artifacts at the Aviation and Space Museum, but the delegation also got a firsthand look at the operations of the FBO terminal, the apron area, the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) station—showcasing a strong commitment to reducing carbon emissions—and the fire station equipped with modern facilities
- Orly Airport (10/24): The “Orly 2035” roadmap – the airport’s long-term development strategy, has revealed important directions for a sustainable and smart airport. In addition, the delegation witnessed firsthand the rainwater treatment system, the power plant, and the airport’s “brain” – APOC. (Airport Operations Control Center). The meeting with the Groupe ADP engineering team is an opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions about technical projects, address any questions, and learn from practical experiences.
- Charles de Gaulle Airport (10/25): The highly automated baggage handling system (BHS) at Terminal 2E made a strong impression on the delegation. The “Extime Boutique terminal” at Terminal 1 opens up new ideas for a modern terminal model, focusing on passenger experience. The delegation also had the opportunity to observe the runway upgrade process and learn about the Cargo City area – where advanced robots are applied in the transportation process.
Impressive achievements
The training trip has yielded results beyond expectations:
Strengthening cooperative relations: The trip not only reinforced the good relationship between the Vietnam Aviation Academy and ADP but also opened up broader cooperation opportunities in training, research, and expert exchange.
Enhancing professional knowledge: Instructors have direct access to advanced technology, modern management systems, and optimal technical solutions, thereby improving their professional competence and staying updated on global aviation industry trends.
Expanding horizons: The trip helps lecturers gain a more comprehensive understanding of the planning, construction, and operation of modern airports, especially in the context of sustainable development and the application of 4.0 technology.
International experience exchange: The exchange and discussion sessions with ADP experts are valuable opportunities to learn practical experiences, address questions, and share lessons learned.
Supplementing professional knowledge: The delegation has gathered many specialized insights from the team of engineers and experts at ADP, contributing to enriching practical experience for teaching and research activities at the University. institute.
Great significance for development
