Career Orientation and Essential Skills Workshop in Tourism, Hospitality, and Aviation Services

On October 16, 2024, in Room A301 at the Vietnam Aviation Academy, the Faculty of Tourism and Aviation Services successfully organized the workshop titled “Career Orientation and Key Skills in Tourism, Hospitality, and Aviation Services.” The event, attended by a large number of students and leading industry experts, attracted over 100 participants, offering students a valuable opportunity to gain practical knowledge, hear insights from industry professionals, and receive clearer guidance for their career paths.

The workshop featured experts and leaders from various sectors. From Cho Lon Tourist Joint Stock Company, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thai, Director of the Travel Center, shared about the trend of green tourism and how companies are adapting to meet the growing demand for sustainable experiences. Mr. Nguyen Dan Truong, Head of Training & Group Business, emphasized the importance of soft skills in customer communication and management, highlighting how these skills are essential for student success in the tourism and travel industry.

Mr. Vo Minh Trung, Director of Riverside Hotel, provided in-depth insights into the high standards of the hotel industry, from customer service skills to flexible problem-solving abilities. He emphasized that understanding culture and maintaining a professional service style is essential for creating a unique customer experience. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Cong Hoan, Head of the Faculty of Tourism and Aviation Services, offered an overview of the labor market and the diverse demands of the service industry, encouraging students to continuously enhance their knowledge and skills to seize career opportunities in a competitive environment.

The workshop was also attended by department heads, including Dr. Ao Thu Hoai, Head of the Department of Aviation Commercial Services Management; MSc. Huynh Diep Tram Anh, Head of Travel Management; and MSc. Doan Quang Dong, Head of Hotel and Restaurant Management, along with faculty members from the Faculty of Tourism and Aviation Services.

Career Orientation and Essential Skills in the Service Industry: Throughout the program, experts shared insights into the opportunities, challenges, and specific job requirements of each field, helping students gain a comprehensive view of potential career paths. Sincere advice from industry professionals highlighted the importance of setting clear career goals and developing a personal growth plan that aligns with individual strengths.

Practical Skill Development and Networking: The workshop also provided students with the chance to interact, exchange, and learn directly from seasoned professionals. Experts presented real-life scenarios, helping students better understand how to handle various situations in the workplace. This was not only an opportunity to develop soft skills but also a chance for students to gain confidence in defining their career directions and preparing for their entry into the labor market.

The program concluded successfully, offering students valuable experiences, practical knowledge, and strong motivation to pursue careers in the service industry. We hope students will utilize what they learned from this workshop to develop themselves and be well-prepared for their future careers.
