THE 2ND VIETNAM AVIATION ACADEMY OPEN MARTIAL ARTS MUSIC FESTIVAL 2026: CONVERGENCE OF RESILIENCE, PASSION, AND STUDENT SPORTS SPIRIT

On the evening of May 10, 2026, the 2nd Vietnam Aviation Academy (VAA) Open Martial Arts Music Festival 2026 took place at Hall F100 in an exhilarating, dynamic, and inspiring atmosphere. Organized by the Youth Union and Student Chapter of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the event attracted widespread participation from youth union members, students, and martial arts performance teams from various universities and colleges across Ho Chi Minh City.

Building on the success of its inaugural season, the 2nd Open Martial Arts Music Festival continues to affirm its appeal as a signature socio-athletic arena for higher education students. Beyond serving as a forum for martial arts clubs to connect and learn, the festival promotes physical fitness, enriches student campus life, and fosters teamwork, creativity, and collective solidarity.

Delivering opening remarks at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Co Tan Anh Vu – Vice President of the Vietnam Aviation Academy – highly commended the initiatives of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Youth Union and coordinating units in staging a meaningful event that enriches student cultural life. He emphasized that martial arts music performances extend beyond sports exchanges to serve as a platform for developing physical agility, strict discipline, resilience, and effective teamwork.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Co Tan Anh Vu also recognized the enthusiastic participation of competing teams from institutions across Ho Chi Minh City, noting that their engagement deepens inter-university connections and student solidarity. He expressed his expectation that cultural and sporting movements will continue to expand, enabling students to achieve well-rounded growth in intellect, fitness, and life skills to meet modern workforce demands in an era of digital transformation and international integration.

Throughout the evening, the audience enjoyed elaborately choreographed martial arts music routines. The competing teams seamlessly blended traditional martial arts forms with modern music, delivering performances marked by high artistic merit, dynamism, and visual appeal.

From powerful, decisive strikes to synchronized, fluid team maneuvers, each routine showcased rigorous training, discipline, and close coordination among team members. Beyond delivering high-caliber competitive performances, the squads conveyed inspiring messages of perseverance, sportsmanship, and the youthful ambition to overcome challenges.

Several entries made a lasting impression through innovative staging that struck a balance between martial arts precision, theatrical performance, and team synergy. Resounding applause and energetic cheers from the audience fueled the auditorium with vibrant athletic spirit and youth enthusiasm.

This year’s festival convened teams representing diverse universities, colleges, and training institutions throughout Ho Chi Minh City. Each team brought distinct stylistic flair and organizational identity, enriching the overall quality and spectator appeal of the competition.

Following an engaging series of performances, the Judging Panel selected the top entries for final honors. The official results are as follows:

  1. First Prize: Vovinam Club – FPT University Ho Chi Minh City
  2. Second Prize: Ngon Lua Lam Team – Saigon Polytechnic College of Tourism and Technology
  3. Third Prize: Vovinam Club – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City Dormitory
  4. Most Popular Performance: Ngon Lua Lam Team – Saigon Polytechnic College of Tourism and Technology

These awards serve as well-deserved recognition for the dedicated training, passionate performance, and thorough preparation demonstrated by all participating teams.
