VIETNAM AVIATION ACADEMY YOUTH HELP FOSTER VIETNAM–CANADA FRIENDSHIP AT 159TH CANADA NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION (JULY 1, 1867 – JULY 1, 2026)

On June 30 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) solemnly hosted a gathering to celebrate the 159th National Day of Canada (July 1, 1867 – July 1, 2026). The event took place in a dignified, cordial atmosphere, offering delegates an opportunity to review bilateral cooperation and development milestones while reinforcing the bond of friendship and collaboration between the peoples of Vietnam and Canada in the new era.

The gathering was attended by leaders from central and Ho Chi Minh City agencies, HUFO, the Vietnam–Canada Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City, alongside representatives from municipal departments, business associations, international organizations, higher education institutions, and partner entities.

Representing the Vietnam Aviation Academy (VAA) was Prof. Dr. Ha Nam Khanh Giao – Vice President of the Academy. His attendance underscored the institution’s commitment to people-to-people diplomacy, international cultural exchange, and strategic international partnerships that advance VAA’s global integration. In addition, VAA students delivered special artistic performances, enlivening the cultural exchange and tightening friendship ties between Vietnam and Canada. These well-choreographed performances, deeply rooted in Vietnamese cultural identity, left a lasting impression on international delegates and distinguished guests.

Delivering his address, Mr. Dang Quoc Toan noted that since establishing bilateral diplomatic relations in 1973, the Vietnam–Canada partnership has continuously expanded across politics, economics, trade, investment, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. Building upon this solid foundation, Ho Chi Minh City aims to broaden cooperation with Canadian partners, especially in international finance, innovation, high technology, green industries, clean energy, logistics, and high-quality human resource development.

In response, Ms. Annie Dubé, Consul General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed high appreciation for HUFO’s dedicated efforts in organizing this meaningful gathering. She affirmed that Canada remains committed to fostering people-to-people diplomacy, particularly in education, environmental sustainability, culture, and sports, to enhance mutual understanding, trust, and goodwill. Furthermore, as a co-host of the upcoming FIFA World Cup, Canada looks forward to welcoming more Vietnamese travelers for tourism and experiential exchange, thereby enriching bilateral cultural ties.

Contributing to the event’s cultural segment, VAA students showcased two elaborately choreographed artistic performances highlighting their energy, creativity, and talent. The performances not only enriched the program’s repertoire but also served as a cultural bridge, presenting the image of modern, confident, culturally rooted Vietnamese youth to international partners. The routines drew enthusiastic ovations from attendees and left a positive impression of VAA students.

Participating in the program demonstrated the civic commitment of Academy youth in civic diplomacy while affirming VAA’s active role in political, diplomatic, and cultural gatherings held in Ho Chi Minh City. It also provided students with a valuable platform to interact, learn, hone global integration skills, and project the image of a dynamic and poised student body.
