GREEN SUMMER 2026: VIETNAM AVIATION ACADEMY VOLUNTEERS OFFER INCENSE AT HILL 82 MARTYRS’ CEMETERY ALONGSIDE CENTRAL YOUTH UNION SECRETARY

Within the framework of the Green Summer Volunteer Campaign 2026 in Tan Bien Commune, Tay Ninh Province, on the morning of July 26, 2026, volunteer youth from the Vietnam Aviation Academy (VAA) had the honor of joining the delegation of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, the Youth Department of the People’s Public Security, and the Tay Ninh Provincial Youth Union to attend the floral and incense-offering ceremony commemorating Heroic Martyrs at Hill 82 Martyrs’ Cemetery. This sacred historical site serves as the final resting place for tens of thousands of cadres and soldiers who heroically sacrificed their lives for national liberation, territorial defense, and internationalist duties.

The delegation attending the ceremony included Comrade Nguyen Kim Quy – Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Standing Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Federation; comrade Nguyen Quoc Huy – Member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Head of the Youth Union Affairs Department of the Central Youth Union; Major General Ngo Hoai Thu – Deputy Director of the Department of Political Affairs, Ministry of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant Colonel Dong Duc Vu – Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Youth Union, Head of the Youth Department of the People’s Public Security; Comrade Tran Hai Phu – Member of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Youth Union; alongside leaders of partner units and a large number of volunteer youth.

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, the delegates and Green Summer volunteers respectfully laid wreaths, offered incense, and observed a minute of silence in memory of the immense contributions of the Heroic Martyrs. The burning incense sticks not only conveyed profound gratitude to preceding generations who laid down their lives for the nation’s independence and freedom, but also served as a pledge by today’s younger generation to carry forward revolutionary traditions, continually studying, training, and dedicating themselves to national development.

For each VAA Green Summer volunteer, the incense-offering ceremony at Hill 82 Martyrs’ Cemetery was not merely a commemorative activity within the volunteer campaign, but also a profound, practical lesson in patriotism, revolutionary spirit, and youth responsibility toward national history. Standing before the rows of martyrs’ headstones, each youth member gained a deeper appreciation for the value of peace, independence, and the profound sacrifices that laid the groundwork for today’s development.

Accompanying the leadership of the Central Youth Union in the memorial ceremony at Hill 82 Martyrs’ Cemetery was a great honor and source of pride for VAA volunteers. It provided immense spiritual encouragement, fueling the Academy’s youth to uphold their pioneering, voluntary spirit and continuously contribute through practical community projects across localities.

The memorial activity at Hill 82 Martyrs’ Cemetery contributed to educating youth on revolutionary traditions, nurturing ideals, ethics, and patriotism among Youth Union members. Furthermore, it served as a reminder for every Green Summer volunteer to live responsibly, carry forward the glorious traditions of forebears, and spread the noble values of VAA youth throughout their community service journey.
