Workshop “Research Like A Pro – Finding The Right Sources, Producing High-Quality Academic Work”
On June 28, 2026, the Department of International Business under the Faculty of Air Transport Economics, Vietnam Aviation Academy, successfully organized the workshop “Research Like A Pro – Finding the Right Sources, Producing High-Quality Academic Work”. The workshop was designed to support students in enhancing their skills in searching for, selecting, and utilizing academic resources, thereby establishing a solid foundation for coursework, essays, reports, and scientific research.
The workshop was attended by MSc. Tran Thi Thu Hien, Head of the Department of International Business, lecturers of the Department, and a large number of students majoring in International Business. The presence of the faculty members and the enthusiastic participation of the students created a vibrant, open, and highly interactive learning environment.
The keynote speaker of the workshop was MSc. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Linh, Lecturer at the Faculty of Air Transport Economics, Vietnam Aviation Academy. Drawing upon her experience in teaching and research, the speaker shared fundamental knowledge and practical approaches that enabled students to engage in academic research in a systematic, scientific, and effective manner.

Throughout the workshop, students were guided through the process of identifying and selecting research topics aligned with their academic objectives and personal development goals. In addition, the speaker introduced methods for developing research keywords and designing effective literature search strategies to optimize information retrieval. These essential skills help students save time while improving the quality of their academic assignments and research projects. One of the most engaging sessions focused on the practical use of Google Scholar and academic databases to locate reliable sources of information. Through specific demonstrations, students learned effective search techniques and how to identify appropriate references for different research topics and academic requirements. Beyond searching for literature, the workshop also provided students with a clear understanding of how to evaluate the quality of reference materials. The speaker presented key criteria for assessing the credibility of academic sources and introduced the hierarchy of scholarly references commonly used in essays, reports, and scientific research.
Following the presentation, the workshop continued with a hands-on practice session, allowing students to apply the knowledge they had acquired directly. During this session, students actively engaged in discussions, raised questions, and received detailed responses from the speaker. The combination of theoretical instruction and practical application enabled participants to gain a deeper understanding of the processes involved in searching for, selecting, and utilizing academic resources while strengthening their ability to apply these skills in future coursework and research activities.

Through the workshop, students gained a stronger foundation for accessing high-quality academic resources, developing effective research methodologies, and progressively enhancing their academic competence throughout their studies at the Academy.
In the coming period, the Department of International Business will continue organizing a series of workshops on practical topics to meet students’ learning and skills development needs. These activities will contribute to creating a dynamic learning environment, strengthening connections between lecturers and students, and equipping learners with the knowledge and competencies necessary to meet academic requirements and support their future career development.
