From September 1 to 5, 2025, students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages – Vietnam Aviation Academy participated in Phase 1 (online) of the Blended Aviation Professional Skills & Communication Training (BFAOP), organized by PTC Aviation Training Center (Philippines). This served as an essential foundation, equipping students with knowledge and skills before they travel to Manila for Phase 2 (face-to-face). The program is also one of the options available for students to fulfill their professional practice requirements under the Internship 2025 Plan.

In Phase 1, 24 VAA students studied via Zoom and Canvas with a team of instructors, each bringing more than ten years of experience in the aviation industry with major airlines in the Philippines and worldwide.

The sessions focused on key topics: interview skills, professional values and attitude, grooming and deportment, communication, aviation fundamentals, and cabin crew routine. In addition to class discussions and practice activities, students were also required to submit daily reflections and complete quizzes on Canvas to reinforce their learning.

📍 Day 1 (Sep 1) – Mock Interview, Orientation & Career Introduction: Students experienced a simulated interview under the guidance of Ms. Leah Sison, with the support of Ms. Ria V. Ama and Mr. Dennis Del Mar, helping them build professional demeanor and confidence.

📍 Day 2 (Sep 2) Values, Attitude, Grooming Standards & Personality Development: Ms. Ria V. Ama introduced the DISC model for self-awareness in work styles and guided students through grooming standards and airline-specific expectations.

📍 Day 3 (Sep 3) – Foundation for Effective Communication & Inflight Announcement: Continuing with Ms. Ria V. Ama, students practiced communication based on the RISE principle (Respect – Interact – Speak – Engage), including inflight announcements with a focus on pronunciation, intonation, and building trust through voice.

📍 Day 4 (Sep 4)
Introduction to Aviation: In the morning, Mr. Galen Joseph Cid provided an overview of the aviation industry, from regulatory agencies and safety standards to communication protocols, aircraft structures, flight theory, and industry terminology.
Flight Routine: In the afternoon, Ms. Arlyn Caballero shared real-world insights into cabin crew routines, emphasizing the roles and responsibilities of flight attendants at each stage of the journey.

📍 Day 5 (Sep 5) Landing the Job: Guided by Ms. Ria V. Ama, students learned job application strategies, from preparing resumes and understanding the airline hiring process to practicing interviews and handling real-world scenarios.

Through Phase 1, students not only gained specialized knowledge but also cultivated professional discipline, attitude, and essential soft skills in line with international standards. This phase marks a critical preparation before the group departs for the Philippines to continue with Phase 2 – face-to-face training and practicum at PTC Aviation Training Center (Parañaque, Manila) in mid-September 2025.
