On the morning of November 8, 2025, the defense session for student scientific research projects of the Faculty of Construction for the 2024-2025 academic year was held at Room G308, Campus 2 of the Vietnam Aviation Academy. The session was attended by members of the appraisal committee, along with numerous faculty members and students from the Faculty. This was an opportunity for student groups to present their initial results after a long period of research efforts. All three projects focused on practical issues, demonstrating the students’ interest in their field of study.

The three presented research projects all demonstrated thorough investment and a vision towards solving practical problems in Vietnam’s aviation construction industry, including:

The project “Research on the Impact of Fire on Civil Engineering Works in Vietnam from 2000 to 2024” – Project leader student Nguyen Truc Lin Na and research team members, supervised by Dr. Nguyen Phi Long, pioneered the application of simulation technology. A highlight of the research was the successful use of specialized Pyrosim software to build 3D models, visualizing the fire spread process, and the dispersion of smoke and toxic gases in fire scenarios. These results provide reliable scientific data for assessing fire safety levels, thereby proposing optimal fire prevention and fighting solutions for buildings.

The project “Green Materials for New Generation Airports in Vietnam: Building a Platform of Advanced Criteria and Evaluation Framework” – Project leader student Nguyen Ngoc Tam Nhu and research team members, supervised by M.S. Bui Nam Phuong, addressed the problem of sustainable development. The research developed a comprehensive advanced evaluation framework and set of criteria, providing a scientific basis for managers to select optimal materials, aiming towards building green, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly airports.

The project “Building an Integrated Design Framework for Passenger Terminal Buildings in the New Era in Vietnam Aiming at Enhancing Passenger Experience and Sustainable Development” – Project leader student Nguyen Hoang Thinh and research team members, supervised by M.S. Bui Nam Phuong, presented a strategic vision. The project proposed a comprehensive design model, harmoniously combining Smart Technology, Human Experience, and Sustainable Development, aiming to turn airport terminals into modern, convenient, and identity-rich spaces.

After a period of serious work, discussion, and objective evaluation based on strict criteria, the appraisal committee reached the final conclusion. With profound research content, rigorous scientific methods, and persuasive presentation and defense capabilities, all three projects by the student groups of Nguyễn Trúc Lin Na, Nguyễn Ngọc Tâm Như, and Nguyễn Hoàng Thịnh were excellently unanimously approved and graded as “Pass” by the Committee.

This is a worthy recognition of the intellect, dedication, and effort that the student groups and their supervising lecturers have invested over the past time.
