02 projects of students of Vietnam Aviation Academy won prizes at the Internet of Things competition
Two groups of students from the Faculty of Electrical – Electronics and Information Technology of Vietnam Aviation Academy have excellently won the Third Prize and the Potential Prize at the final round of the “IOT (Internet of Things) Innovation – NTTU 2024” contest with the theme “Sustainable Development” on the morning of Saturday, March 30, 2024.
The DT-VAA student group from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics of Vietnam Aviation Academy, including 4 students: Hoang Phuc Bao Chung, Le Hong Hanh, Le Dai Duc, Tran Dai Phuc, with the guidance of Ms. Nguyen Quynh Anh, excelled over teams from other schools to win the final 03 prize. The group’s project, named “Smart shopping cart – Optimizing the process of purchasing and paying for goods”, was researched on an integrated system on a shopping cart with a website interface, making shopping easier and more convenient. The advantage of using a smart shopping cart compared to a traditional shopping cart is to limit the use of bills, electricity and especially reduce the amount of CO2 in crowded areas.
In addition to the group of students winning the third prize, the VAA-CNTT-YS group from the Faculty of Information Technology of Vietnam Aviation Academy also won 01 Potential prize with the project “Smart system to support passengers at the airport”.
The VAA-CNTT-YS group consists of 3 students from the 2022 class (2nd year), namely Tran Quang Tin, Nguyen Y Bin, Nguyen Van Phu Qui, and 2 students from the 2023 class (1st year), namely Vu Thai Binh Duong and Vo Hoang Nhat Truong, under the guidance of Mr. Nguyen Thai Son. The group’s goal is to create Hubs located at the airport to support passengers with convenient services. The group of students designed this system on an ASUS circuit board, Era platform, and they programmed Python combined with AI,…
The system includes 3 main functions: Audio (Passengers using Vietnamese or English can ask the system about city information such as weather, tourist attractions, cuisine, etc. will immediately respond with audio and text on the LED screen. Or ask about directions to gates, toilets or medical centers in the airport. The system will display a map showing the direction for passengers from their current position to the destination; Map: This function is used for passengers to ask about directions to gates, toilets or medical centers in the airport. By touching the destination on the map, the system will guide the way (This function can support passengers with speech disabilities); Flight schedule: This function helps passengers look up flight schedules. Currently, the group has also integrated a simulation robot into this system to guide passengers when necessary.
