Dare to Fail, Dare to Succeed: How VAA Students Are Inspiring a Reading Culture Through Real Stories

9 June, 2026

More than just a book competition, “Reading with VAAers 2026” became a platform for students of the Vietnam Aviation Academy (VAA) to share their personal experiences, valuable lessons, and journeys of overcoming failure.

Organized by VAA’s Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation in collaboration with the Youth Union in celebration of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, the competition attracted 59 entries inspired by the message “Dare to Fail to Succeed” from the book Dare to Fail.

Through their essays and presentations, students reflected on challenges they had faced, the setbacks they had overcome, and the determination that helped them move forward on their path toward success.

VAA Spreads a Reading Culture Through Real-Life Stories

After a highly competitive preliminary round, the 10 most outstanding contestants advanced to the final round held on June 4, 2026.

During the finale, students delivered inspiring and emotional presentations, sharing their personal stories of setbacks, resilience, and growth. Through their reflections, they highlighted how failures became valuable lessons, shaping their character and strengthening their determination to pursue their dreams.

More than a competition, the event became a meaningful platform where VAA students celebrated the value of reading, exchanged life experiences, and inspired one another with authentic stories of perseverance and success.

Congratulations to the Award Winners!

The competition was filled with enthusiasm, sincerity, and heartfelt emotions. Despite their different stories, all contestants shared a common message: success does not come from never failing, but from having the courage to rise after every failure.

Congratulations to the outstanding winners of Reading with VAAers 2026:

Dương Nguyễn Bảo Ngân and Hoàng Lê Kim Ngân
(Faculty of Business Administration)

Second Prize:
Nguyễn Thị Yến Nhi
(Faculty of Foreign Languages)

Third Prize:

Encouragement Prizes:

(Faculty of Aviation Economics)

Once again, congratulations to all winners and participants for sharing inspiring stories that helped spread the values of reading, resilience, and lifelong learning throughout the VAA community.

The Competition May Have Ended, but the Reading Journey Continues

Although Reading with VAAers 2026 has come to a close, its spirit of reading, learning, and continuous self-improvement continues to inspire the VAA community.

Sometimes, a good book does more than expand our knowledge—it encourages us to reflect, grow, and find the motivation to keep moving forward on our own journey.

Through every page read and every story shared, VAAers are helping to nurture a culture of reading, lifelong learning, and personal development—one that will continue to thrive far beyond the competition itself.
