DARE TO FAIL TO SUCCEED: VAA SPREADS READING CULTURE THROUGH REAL-LIFE STORIES

Far more than a conventional book review competition, “Reading with VAAers – 2026” became a platform for Vietnam Aviation Academy (VAA) students to share personal experiences, lessons learned, and their own journeys of overcoming adversity.
In response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, the competition—jointly organized by the Department of Science, Technology & International Cooperation and the Academy’s Youth Union—attracted 59 entries centered around the message “Dare to Fail to Succeed” inspired by the book Dare to Fail.
VAA spreads reading culture through authentic, real-life stories.
Following the preliminary round, the top 10 finalists advanced to the final round on June 4, 2026. Here, contestants delivered moving oration presentations, recounting personal setbacks, strategies for navigating challenges, and transformative lessons embraced on their paths toward pursuing their dreams.

The atmosphere was engaging, candid, and deeply inspiring, with every presentation echoing a shared truth: success does not stem from never experiencing defeat, but from having the courage to rise after each fall.

Third Prize: Pham Ngoc Thuy An (Faculty of Aviation Economics)
Consolation Prizes: Pham Le Thao Ngan & Huynh Tuan Kiet (Faculty of Aviation Economics)
The competition concludes, but the spirit of reading, lifelong learning, and self-improvement continues to resonate across the VAAer community.
While the contest has come to a close, the spirit of reading, continuous learning, and self-refinement continues to thrive throughout the VAA community. A good book not only broadens the intellect, but also provides the inner drive to forge ahead on life’s journey.
