Faculty of Aeonautical Engineering (FAE) is one of the key training units of the Vietnam Aviation Academy. Established in 2012, the Faculty has affirmed its position as a prestigious training center, providing high-quality human resources for the domestic and international aviation industry.

Faculty of Aeronautical Engineering – Vietnam Aviation Academy was established on August 01, 2012 following Decision No. 500/QĐ-HVHK on July 07, 2012.

The Department of Aeronautical Engineering currently has 20 full-time faculty members, including Associate Professor, PhDs and Masters. Additionally, the department collaborates with experienced visiting lecturers who have participated in various real-world projects.

The department is structured into four divisions:

• Aerodynamics and Propulsion
• Aircraft Electric – Electronics
• Aerospace Structures and Materials
• Aircraft Maintenance and Management

In terms of education, the department offers 4 undergraduate majors and 1 master’s program:

• Undergraduate programs:
  • Aeronautical Engineering (taught in English)
  • Aeronautical Engineering (taught in Vietnamese)
  • Aircraft Maintenance Management (taught in Vietnamese)
  • Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Engineering (taught in Vietnamese)
• Master’s program:
  • Aeronautical Engineering (taught in Vietnamese)

The Department of Aerodynamics and Propulsion is an important discipline in aeronautical and aerospace engineering, focusing on the study of the forces and movements of the air, as well as the engine systems that generate thrust.

The Department of Aerodynamics and Propulsion plays a key role in the development of advanced aviation technology.

The Department of Aircraft Electronics and Electronics (Avionics) specializes in teaching and researching aircraft electrical and electronic systems, aircraft navigation systems, aircraft radar systems, aircraft communication systems, automatic flight systems for commercial aircraft, UAVs.

The Department of Aeronautical Structures and Materials is a leading academic and research discipline dedicated to the development of knowledge and technology related to aeronautical structures and materials. The department focuses on the design, analysis, fabrication, and testing of aircraft structures using advanced materials to ensure safety, efficiency, and sustainability in the aviation industry.

The strong development of the aviation industry has always been accompanied by the maintenance and repair system of the aircraft behind it. A flyable aircraft must ensure feasibility, in which technical personnel play an indispensable role in maintaining this feasibility.

The Department of Aircraft Maintenance Management will provide students with the necessary knowledge so that they can access the tasks that an aircraft maintenance technician has to handle on a daily basis, improving their adaptability in the real working environment.
