Head of Training Department
The Faculty of Civil Engineering is an academic unit specializing in education, research, and technology transfer in the fields of construction, management, operation, and development of airports.
With a mission to train highly qualified Civil Engineering Technology professionals and foster excellent scientific research capabilities, the faculty aims to contribute to the advancement of the aviation industry.
Contact Information:
The Faculty of Civil Engineering was established under Decision No. 180/QĐ-HVHK dated March 24, 2022, issued by the Director of the Vietnam Aviation Academy.
Currently, the Faculty has over 15 lecturers, including 8 Associate Professors and Doctors with extensive experience in teaching, scientific research, and academic management. They have participated in numerous training courses on airport management and development. Most of the faculty’s doctoral lecturers (6 out of 8) have received their education abroad in countries such as France, South Korea, Russia, and Belgium.
Additionally, many leading professors, doctors, and experts in airport construction, both domestically and internationally, are involved in the Faculty’s Science and Training Council, as well as in advisory councils within the Faculty and the Academy, contributing to the field of construction.
Surveying and Inspection play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of new construction projects as well as structures currently in operation, especially in the design, construction, management, and operation of airports. Surveying typically involves collecting and evaluating data on topography, geology, hydrology, and conducting environmental impact assessments. Inspection focuses on checking and assessing the quality of structures to ensure safety, meet technical requirements, and propose treatment solutions to extend the lifespan of the project.
For the two specializations, “Airport Construction and Development” and “Airport Management and Operation,” knowledge of surveying and inspection is an essential factor for students. This knowledge is vital in designing, constructing, managing, and operating airport facilities effectively and safely in the future.
Playing a vital role in the two specializations, “Airport Construction and Development” and “Airport Management and Operation,” materials and structures are closely interrelated. Materials directly influence the load-bearing capacity of structures, and each type of structure or structural system requires specific materials to ensure safety and stability.
A deep understanding of this relationship is not only fundamental to the design of airport facilities but also significantly contributes to optimizing the operation and management of aviation infrastructure.
The department manages courses in four specialized fields: architectural design, reinforced concrete structural design, steel structures, and infrastructure design, including bridges and roads.
These courses provide students with specialized knowledge to support surveying, consulting, and designing construction projects in general, and airport terminal buildings in particular.
The department is responsible for courses related to construction techniques and project organization, covering a wide range of projects from small to large scale. It not only equips students with specialized knowledge but also hones practical skills and professional conduct, enabling them to confidently tackle challenges in the industry.
Students are exposed to the most advanced construction technologies available today. Through projects and specialized topics, they develop skills in organizing and managing construction activities while fostering creativity and innovative thinking in applying technology.
This provides a solid foundation for training future engineers to excel in the construction field, contributing to the creation of high-quality and sustainable projects for the future.
The department is a key academic unit, equipping students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in planning, designing, constructing, and managing the construction and operation of airport infrastructure. The courses focus on integrating specialized construction knowledge with international aviation principles and standards, enabling students to meet the increasingly high demands of the rapidly growing aviation industry.
Students will gain exposure to advanced technologies, modern design methods, and sustainable solutions, preparing them to make significant contributions to the development and expansion of Vietnam’s airport system in the future.
The department specializes in the management, operation, and utilization of airport infrastructure. Its courses provide students with knowledge and a clear understanding of the operation of airport infrastructure facilities, the roles and responsibilities of relevant state management agencies, as well as regulations on planning and land use within airports. This ensures optimal support for aviation activities within the airport environment.
