The movement of Physical Education and Sports at Vietnam Aviation Academy has been developing strongly, contributing to improving students’ health, fostering essential skills, building a dynamic academic environment, and promoting the positive image of VAA students in the new era.
In recent years, the Physical Education and Sports movement among students at Vietnam Aviation Academy has experienced remarkable growth, becoming an important highlight in campus life and in the Academy’s strategy for building a comprehensive educational environment. Sports activities not only contribute to enhancing students’ physical and mental well-being but also help shape the image of a dynamic, modern, disciplined, and youthful learning environment.
With a clear development orientation, Physical Education at the Academy has been systematically organized in accordance with the training scale and students’ exercise needs. According to the teaching implementation plan, the Academy organizes approximately 600 Physical Education classes annually for around 4,500 students, equivalent to approximately 18,000–20,000 teaching periods. Sports facilities and training spaces are effectively utilized for various disciplines such as volleyball, basketball, football, pickleball, martial arts, and aerobics, thereby ensuring teaching quality and creating favorable conditions for students to practice regularly.

In its development orientation for the 2025–2035 period, the Academy identifies continued investment in key sports such as football, volleyball, basketball, pickleball, swimming, and martial arts, while simultaneously focusing on developing student clubs, expanding cooperation and exchanges with partner institutions, and enhancing the professional quality of representative teams.

In practice, sports have become one of the most distinctive areas among VAA students. Numerous internal tournaments, exchange activities, and club movements have contributed to spreading the spirit of solidarity, enthusiasm, and resilience of aviation youth. In particular, the activities of the Vietnam Aviation Academy Volleyball Club and tournaments such as the VAA’s Open Volleyball Tournament have created beneficial and professional sporting platforms, contributing to affirming the position of student sports movements throughout the Academy.

Beyond the goal of physical training, sports activities also play an important role in personality education, promoting a positive lifestyle, and cultivating essential qualities for students. Through training and competition, students develop discipline, responsibility, teamwork, resilience under pressure, and the determination to overcome challenges. These qualities are highly meaningful for students’ academic development, personal growth, and future careers in the modern aviation industry.
At the same time, the Academy also identifies sports as an effective channel for building and promoting its institutional image. Development plans consistently emphasize integrating sports movements with communication activities, brand promotion, student recruitment, and community engagement. Through tournaments, sports festivals, digital media content, and the participation of student teams in various competitions, the image of Vietnam Aviation Academy is increasingly being reinforced as dynamic, professional, and distinctive.

This demonstrates that Physical Education at the Academy is not only compulsory but also designed to better suit students’ interests, abilities, and training needs.
- Volleyball develops teamwork coordination, reflexes, jumping ability, and team spirit. It is also one of the sports prioritized by the Academy due to high student demand and available facilities.
- Basketball helps students improve endurance, speed, flexibility, and situational handling in high-intensity movement environments.
- Football is a familiar sport that supports overall physical fitness, tactical awareness, and collective coordination skills.
- Pickleball is a modern and emerging sport characterized by flexibility and accessibility. The Academy has incorporated it into teaching, movement development, and representative team building.
- Martial arts contribute to physical development, agility, discipline, self-defense skills, and personal confidence.
- Aerobics focuses on flexibility, movement rhythm, body control, and creating enthusiasm for regular exercise.
In the coming years, with the attention and support of the Academy’s leadership, the coordination of functional units, the dedication of lecturers, and the active participation of students, the Physical Education and Sports movement at Vietnam Aviation Academy is expected to continue developing both broadly and deeply. This will not only serve as an important foundation for improving students’ quality of life but also act as a driving force in building Vietnam Aviation Academy into a modern and comprehensive educational environment where students can develop harmoniously in intellect, physical fitness, and global integration capacity.
