Amid the rapid transformation of the tourism, hospitality, and aviation sectors under the impact of digital transformation and sustainable development trends, the FTAS 2026 Scientific Conference organized by the Faculty of Tourism and Aviation Services of Vietnam Aviation Academy concluded with remarkable academic and practical outcomes.

Prof. Dr. Ha Nam Khanh Giao, Vice Director of the Academy and Head of the Faculty of Tourism and Aviation Services, delivered the opening remarks.

Held on May 17 at Vietnam Aviation Academy, the conference themed “Tourism – Accommodation – Aviation Services in the Era of Green and Digital Technology” brought together numerous scientists, lecturers, business experts, graduate students, and university students to exchange ideas and discuss emerging trends in the modern service industry.

More than simply a research forum, FTAS 2026 highlighted the increasingly significant role of higher education institutions in accompanying businesses and society amid the rapid changes of the digital era.

One of the most remarkable aspects of FTAS 2026 was its strong spirit of connecting academic research with practical application.

From presentations on artificial intelligence (AI), big data, customer experience management, chatbots, and self-service models in aviation to studies on sustainable tourism, environmental responsibility, and integrated service ecosystems, the conference addressed numerous practical issues through multidimensional perspectives closely aligned with the operational and developmental needs of the industry.

A key highlight of FTAS 2026 was its emphasis on bridging academia and real-world practice. Many participants at the conference noted that in an increasingly competitive environment, the service industry no longer competes solely through scale or pricing, but through customer experience, data utilization, and technological adaptability.

In particular, “green development” is no longer merely a trend-driven slogan, but has become an essential requirement for tourism, hospitality, and aviation enterprises seeking sustainable growth and international integration.

The discussion sessions also clearly reflected the changing mindset in education today: students should not only be equipped with professional knowledge, but also gain exposure to industry practices, emerging technologies, and innovative thinking in order to adapt to a constantly evolving labor market.

The conference not only contributed academic value through its collection of presentations and scientific proceedings, but also created an open platform for dialogue on the future of the service industry in the digital era.

At the same time, FTAS 2026 opened up further opportunities for collaboration between academia and industry in research, education, and knowledge transfer. This is considered an important direction in narrowing the gap between classroom learning and professional practice.

With the participation of numerous experts, businesses, and researchers, the conference not only enriched academic discourse through its presentations and scientific publications, but also fostered meaningful discussions on the future development of the service industry in the age of digital transformation.

The FTAS 2026 Scientific Conference, organized by the Faculty of Tourism and Aviation Services of Vietnam Aviation Academy, concluded with many remarkable academic and practical highlights.

Concluding after a series of in-depth discussions and exchange sessions, FTAS 2026 delivered a clear message: digital transformation and green development are no longer optional, but inevitable pathways for Vietnam’s tourism, hospitality, and aviation industries to enhance competitiveness, achieve sustainable growth, and adapt to global changes.
