VIETNAM AVIATION ACADEMY YOUTH UNION PARTICIPATES IN THE 2025 WORLD SEAFARERS’ DAY CELEBRATION
Recently, at the Hall of the Dong Nai Maritime Administration, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Vietnam Maritime and Inland Waterways Authority successfully held a special seminar to commemorate World Seafarers’ Day (June 25).. This meaningful event aimed to honor the silent yet immense contributions of seafarers around the globe — those who tirelessly dedicate themselves to the seas, playing a vital role in socio-economic development and in safeguarding the sacred maritime sovereignty of our nation

Seminar Held at Dong Nai Maritime Administration Hall
The event gathered a large number of distinguished delegates and honored guests, reflecting the strong interest and support from agencies and organizations toward the seafarer community.
Attending the seminar were:
Comrade Vũ Minh Thái – Deputy Secretary in charge of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Construction, Comrade Mai Chí Thành – Standing Committee Member of the Ministry of Construction’s Youth Union, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Vietnam Maritime and Inland Waterways Authority, Comrade Lưu Việt Hùng – Director of the Dong Nai Maritime Administration…along with representatives from the Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City Maritime Administrations, Maritime and Inland Waterways College II, the Southern Maritime and Inland Waterways Sub-Department, Inland Waterway Port Authorities of Regions III and IV, Vietnam Aviation Academy, veteran captains and seafarers, and more than 80 young union members working in the sector.
This was truly a great opportunity for the Youth Union of Vietnam Aviation Academy to broaden their knowledge and strengthen connections within the maritime and inland waterway community.

Comrade Nguyễn Thanh Hảo – Secretary of the Youth Union of Vietnam Aviation Academy – and key Youth Union officers actively participated in the seminar
One of the highlights of the seminar was the insightful participation of highly experienced guest speakers, who provided authentic and profound perspectives on seafaring life:
- Dr. Lưu Việt Hùng – Director of Dong Nai Maritime Administration
- Captain Nguyễn Văn Học – Deputy Director of the Seafarer Center, Âu Lạc Joint Stock Company
- Captain Bùi Văn Tài – Inlaco Saigon Shipping Company
- Captain Đinh Xuân Trường – Captain of SAR 413 Vessel
The speakers shared heartfelt, real-life stories of seafarers, touching on the challenges and hardships they face at sea, as well as the deep pride and passionate love they have for their profession.
Importantly, the seminar focused on discussing practical solutions to improve both the material and spiritual lives of seafarers, in alignment with the 2025 World Seafarers’ “Safe Horizons: A Maritime Sector Free of Harassment.” This theme emphasizes the importance of building a safe, fair, and respectful working environment at sea — where every seafarer is treated with dignity and can fully devote themselves with peace of mind.

The Vietnam Aviation Academy Youth Union firmly believes that through meaningful seminars like this, we will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the work of seafarers.
