On June 5, in Can Tho City, the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City, in collaboration with the Vietnam Aviation Academy – the lead organization – held a mid-term evaluation and review of the city-level social science research project titled: “Current Situation and Solutions for Developing a Smart Tourism System to Attract Tourists to Can Tho City.”

The project is led by Prof. Dr. Ha Nam Khanh Giao and has been implemented since June 2023. Its objective is to assess the current status of the smart tourism system in Can Tho City, propose an appropriate application model—initially piloted at the Cai Rang Floating Market—and recommend effective solutions for city-wide implementation.

The mid-term review council for the city-level social science research project titled “Current Situation and Solutions for Developing a Smart Tourism System to Attract Tourists to Can Tho City” was chaired by Dr. Ngo Anh Tin, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City. The council includes members who are experts from universities, governmental departments, and cultural–tourism organizations.

The delegates took a commemorative photo together after the review session.
The project marks an important step in integrating technology and digital transformation into the tourism sector, contributing to shaping a sustainable and modern development model, and enhancing Can Tho City’s appeal on the national smart tourism map.
