National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Launches Pilot Graduate Research Scholarship Program
The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) of Taiwan has launched a Pilot Graduate Research Scholarship Program to provide financial support to first-year doctoral students commencing their studies in February or September of the following year (2025) at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST).

Objective:
The NSTC aims to cultivate research talent and support strategic industries by awarding outstanding first-year doctoral students who demonstrate the potential to make significant contributions to research.
Eligibility:
The following individuals are not eligible for this scholarship:
a. Individuals who are employed full-time or enrolled part-time with work-related responsibilities. b. Students from Hong Kong, Macau, or mainland China. c. Students on leave of absence who have not completed registration. d. Recipients of other government scholarships or grants.
Scholarship Amount:
Each recipient will be granted a monthly stipend of NT$40,000 for a maximum of three years, starting from the first year. The stipend will continue until the month of graduation for those who graduate earlier than the three-year period.
Application Process:
Applications must be submitted online (https://www.nstc.gov.tw/). Required documents include:
a. Online personal information form b. Application form (under 10 pages) c. Academic degree certificates d. Transcripts from previous academic programs e. PDF of passport or ARC f. Other supporting documents (language certificates or letters of recommendation)
Application Period:
From October 1, 2024, to October 31, 2024.
